Overview of Premier Barber Institute

In the Philadelphia metropolitan area, the Premier Barber Institute opened to help people learn the skills needed to become a barber in 2014. We merged with Westchester School of Barbering to strengthen our environment and curriculum. This merger allowed us to receive our Title IV federal financial aid accreditation. We’re passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of barbers to come into their own. Our staff is dedicated to providing you with a high-quality education.

Premier Barber Institute takes pride in our experienced instructors, modern facilities, and comprehensive curriculum. Our instructors understand the ins and outs of being a barber and what it takes to accomplish your goals. They create a supportive learning environment where you can thrive. We have modern facilities, where you’ll take classes and enjoy hands-on experience, learning your new craft with an instructor ready to help and offer advice. At Premier Barber Institute, you’ll find that it’s more than a school. You’ll find a community that shares your interests from the teachers and administrators to the other students.

Barbering Program Highlights

At Premier Barber Institute, our barbering program is 1250 hours to ensure that you learn all the skills and knowledge you need to make you marketable, help you pass your licensing exam, and give you the confidence to be successful. Our intensive, attentive educational approach is both hands-on and interactive, so you’re ready for your first position. When you’re taking part in the hands-on training, you’ll learn the finer points of cutting, styling, and grooming techniques. To begin with, you’ll watch live presentations to see the techniques involved. You’ll move on to working with people who use our student services for cuts, styling, a shave, or mustache and beard grooming.

The coursework begins with learning more about health and safety practices. We want all of our students to be safe and health during school and beyond. You’ll also learn how to meet with a client and learn more about the type of cut or services they want. Interacting with clients and providing a consultation helps you provide the exact services and cut that the client wants. We’ll also teach you some of the business skills you need when you start your career and help you see the future possibilities.
